1. Chili peppers and ginger prevent Ichthyophthirius in fish.
Early winter, late spring, and early summer, when water temperatures are between 15-25°C, are the peak seasons for Ichthyophthirius in fish. Ichthyophthirius is commonly seen on the body, fins, or gills of diseased fish, often with numerous small white spots visible to the naked eye. These are Ichthyophthirius. Sick fish may swim sluggishly, floating on the surface, or even swarming around the pond. Without prompt treatment, the mortality rate can reach over 80%. For every acre of water surface (1 meter deep), add half a pound of dried chili peppers and two ounces of dried ginger slices. Add the mixture to 4 pounds of water, boil, and simmer for half an hour. Add the mixture, including the residue and juice, to the entire pond, once daily for two days to cure the disease.

2. Garlic and salt prevent enteritis and vertical scale disease in fish.
Enteritis in fish is one of the four major diseases commonly associated with diseased fish. Affected fish exhibit redness and swelling of the anus, swim solitary, move slowly, refuse to eat, and their bodies turn black. When the fish is dissected, the intestinal wall becomes inflamed and congested, discoloring red or purple. Grass carp and black carp are most commonly affected, with the disease occurring between April and October. Scale erection disease, also known as "erectile scale disease," causes scales to splay outward, standing upright like pine cones, accompanied by fin rot, congestion at the base of the fin rays, and sometimes a swollen abdomen. This disease is common in carp, crucian carp, and ornamental fish (such as goldfish and tropical fish). It is prevalent in water temperatures between 20-25°C, resulting in rapid death and a high mortality rate. Both diseases can be treated with garlic and salt. Specific methods:
① For enteritis, for every 50 kg of grass carp and black carp, use the first method: Mix half a pound of garlic with 2 ounces of salt and 2 kg of feed. Feed the mixture continuously for 3-6 days. The second method: Combine 5 kg of chopped leeks with 2 ounces of salt, stir thoroughly, and then feed the mixture to the feeding table for 3-6 days.
② For scale erection disease, for enteritis, use the first method: Mix half a pound of garlic with 2 ounces of salt and 2 kg of feed. Add half a pound of crushed garlic to every 50 kilograms of water and soak the infected fish several times for 5-10 minutes each time. Alternatively, soak the infected fish in a mixture of 2% salt water and 3% baking soda for 10 minutes. Alternatively, soak the infected fish in 3% salt water alone for 10-15 minutes.
③ Preventing and treating other fish diseases. Soaking infected fish in 3%-4% salt water for 5 minutes, or in 0.5%-0.6% salt water for 15-20 minutes, is effective for treating water mold and gill mold in all types of fish.

3. Garlic prevents skin rot and perforation in soft-shelled turtles.
Symptoms of skin rot in soft-shelled turtles include rotting of the skirt, limbs, and head, and redness, swelling, and even erosion and inflammation of the abdomen. Symptoms of perforation are rotting of the carapace, exposing the bones, and what appears to be thick matter corroding the carapace. In severe cases, the plastron also rots. These two diseases are common in turtle farming, with high mortality rates, directly affecting the economic benefits of feed. They can be treated with a combination of antibiotics and garlic. Usage and Dosage: For every 5 kg of complete turtle feed, mix 50 g of crushed garlic, 10 g of antibiotic powder, and 10 ml of "Biebao" (preferably with 100-150 g of a binder). Feed the mixture on the feeding table for 5-6 consecutive days to achieve the desired effect.
